I am so happy with my ixus 110 :))

It is my first digital camera but I can honestly say that it is one of the best things I have ever bought :).

I have some pictures from Japan (where I will be for 5 months). As I just started having fun with photography please comment so I can learn

Martin,

Thanks for posting your pictures, as a newbie I'm torn between the small size of the S300 Digital ELPH (same as 110 size) and the S30, which is bigger but has a few more features, notably 3megapixels versus 2mp for the ELPHs. But your photos prove to me that the ELPH-sized cameras can take damn nice pictures! That's good to know as I make up my mind.

The pictures on pbase are not the original. I adjusted them for data-size and screen-size, so the originals are even better. I really like the size of the ixus...it is easy to take with you every time. The s30 is also small but not small enough for me :).

Oh I forgot to mention that the S300 is bigger than the 110. I think the S30 and S300 are about the same size (although shaped differently).

i know this sounds stupid, but i dont know that much about cameras, how do you change the shutter speed? i see in pictures you have 1/40s and 1/60s, how do you do that? is it the exp. menu?

Re: I am so happy with my ixus 110 :))

It is not possible to manually set the shutterspeed with the s110. I sometimes switch off the flash which should result in longer exposure (need a steady hand though :). If you want to make night pictures it is best to switch to manual mode because shutterspeeds can be much longer in manual mode then in auto mode.

When all fails, just read the manual: the shutter speeds could be changed in Tv (with the front ring) and in M (with the control ring)

You do realize that this was an 11 year old thread? They were probably talking about the first S110 from Canon.
