Hi all,

after I got screw mount adapter, I am planning to have one or two takumar lens to try. I really one to have a prime wide angle, I need your opinion which one to choose..

as I know, there are 3 type takumar lens :
  • SMC takumar (newest with SMC coating)
  • Super Takumar (multicoated, not SMC)
  • Takumar (single coated)
correct me if I am wrong about this

I'am looking for a 24mm or 28 mm takumar lens,
as I know, there are
24mm f3.5
28mm f2.8
28mm f3.5
...

which one should I choose?

I need your opinion on these lenses performance, sharpness, contrast, flare, etc..

Thanks for the information,
Long Live Pentax
Regards

I, too, have this lens. Just this weekend past I took some shots of a vase of flowers to see how it did, and I was happy with the results. Below is the resized pic and a 100% crop from the upper-right.

I don't use it too often because even at f/3.5 it is pretty dark, and 28mm isn't very wide at all on digital. I'll often defer to a 35mm when given a choice between these two.
Here you go: RAW converted with CS2, default settings, f/8 with bounced flash:

It is just a tiny bit on the warm side, but you wouldn't notice unless you shot immediately afterward with another (cooler) lens.
