Gary Friedman's book ?

I'm thinking about the downloaded ver. of Gary Friedman's book on the Konica Minolta 5D and 7D. I have the 5D. How much new info does it cover. I have been taking photos for over 30 years and don't need another book telling my things I already know. But I am new to the DSLR world and am thinking it may be a good idea? Is the download in color? Does it cover using RAW and how to PP and handle them? What other good info does this book cover that I can't read about on his web site? I know he don't want to give away the hole book but it would help to know a little more before spending the $$$ to download this book. I would love to have a full color ver. in hand but just don't have the $$$ at this time. I hate reading manuals on the computer but if it's in full color it may make it easer for me and I can always print a B/W copy for myself to read if I can't deal with reading in on the computer. What Ya think? Thanks. George

It is in color, and it's a very easy read, although it's packed with info. There are many references to the differences between film and digital, so I think you will really receive a lot of bemefit.

Another recommendation from me George - and you can buy the printed book in black and White much cheaper than the Colour version, then Gary will give you a free download of the pdf so you can still view the Colour if you want - best of both worlds.

Yeah, the printed B&W version is $29.73 - not too bad, but the color is $71.58!

Thanks you all you help guy's! I did download the book after reading All your replys. Someone said something about referring to Film to digital and that sounded just like something I would need. Thanks George

George,

You won't be sorry you bought Gary Friedman's book. It's full of useful tips and lots of info that doesn't appear in the KM manual....and his style of writing is brilliant.

Wait until you read Chapter 7 about wireless flash.

My experience is that Chapter 5 is available as a color pdf -- but not the entire book -- since color is essential for points covered in that chapter.

I recently bought the paper book from Lulu and quickly received the author's answer paraphrased above in reply to my email asking about pdf downloads.
