New to the 350

I used to do quite a bit of photography but that was several years ago and since then I've only used a medium grade PAS. The desire for a DSLR got the best of me recently and I bought the 350 kit. Then I found this forum, read a lot, and took the repeated advice to pick up a 50mm 1.8.

Well, I'm finding that it's not like riding a bicycle and getting my 'eye' back (if I ever had one) may take some time. So, I submit a couple for critique. Please be gentle.

Lucy, kit lens, 55mm, 1/100, f5.6, ISO400

Misty morning, unfortunately into the sun, kit lens, 18mm, 1/50, f3.5, ISO100

My other hobby, 50mm 1.8, 2", f16, ISO100
