Re: Could Multi-CAM2000-ll be the "Special Feature" ???

I suppose the "special feature" to find in the sensor...

Re: Could Multi-CAM2000-ll be the "Special Feature" ??? NOOOO!

The D200 can't have better AF than than the D2 series. There are just not enough differntiators for Nikon to put this into the D200. Cam 2000, I can see that.

As for the crackheads that keep talking about FF for the D200...what are you possibly thinking about???

And while this thread is just another baseless, useless D200 page...I had to support it since it says 10mpix sensor and not some silly FF or 12mpix sensor thing...

Flash sync 1/500 yay !!

You say it has a combined mechanical and ccd electronic shutter. Does this mean a sony ccd as opposed to a cmos/lbcast or fuji sensor??

If this is for real. I am glad it is only ten mp so I don't have to buy that many more CF cards-it is CF and not SD like the D50 I hope.

What so special about the CAM2000 to make it a "special" feature? Nikon used the same CAM1300 on the F5 and F100, so it is not the first time they used a pro focus module on a "semi-pro" body.

I thought the "special" feature will be something like like ultra wide dynamic range at the very least, not a pro focus module. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't that true when the person who mentioned the "special" feature also quoted it will be something "never seen in the others before"?

3 cross sensors?

D2 series have 9 (i think). How will the non cross sensors be arranged? I was hoping for at least 5 cross sensors (same position as in D70/D100/D50 and rest non cross)..

Just typing out loud..

I agree (and hope so) !

Maybe special feature is no delayed release

That has never been seen before LOL. What about cable release? Built in flash? Vertical grip-I could go on. We shall see whose crystal ball is right.
Maybe jeff-c will weigh in on this.

That's just not true. As has already been pointed out, the F100 and F5 both had the same CAM module. What the F5 had over the F100 was better motors to drive the lens focus (for non-AFS lenses).

Re: MultiCam 2000 + AF Assist White light lamp??

Well, from the post it seems that Multi CAM2000 II is LESS capable than the Multi CAM2000 is the D2x -- 3 cross sensors versus 9. So although Nikon could have put the same AF in the D200, they might be saving $$$ this way.

Then again, maybe they've gotten rid of the focusing problems some have had with the D2x; and that earns the "II" even with fewer cross sensors.

Yup, that's the way I remember it. Since the Fuji S3 has wide dynamic range, I thought it could be a B&W mode (except the 20D has that, doesn't it?).

So here's my guess for the "special feature": Built-in wireless capability. No camera had it at the time the statement was made, and only a couple of Coolpix's have it now, AFAIK.

Bets anyone? (I've lived in Vegas too long.)

D1X has B&W mode

It is pretty good too. Saves you from deciding which ones to convert I will probably keep mine just for that-now if there was a battery solution...

Could you ever guess I am excited about this long awaited vaporware tool?

WiFi will be...

..., as far as I remember, integrated in the optional hand grip.

OMG, what a lot of speculations

I suppose this means good bye !

If FF is what you need, then buying a Canon FF dSLR is a very reasonable choice.

you mean

the soft corners and light fall off that still leave me with a larger work space than the DX sensor crop? i wasn't talking about switching, I was talking about NOT UPGRADING. hence my signature.

true

but ive said this on more than one occasion: to sell all my gear 15K plus doesn't make sense especailly when you consider canon doesnt have an answer to the F5. more likely is i'll buy a 5D with a 16-40 2.8 and have the best of both worlds.
