Dragan effect 10 step tutorial file

Does anyone know where I can find this? I've searched the forum, and none of the links mentioned are currently working. If someone could email it to me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: Dragan effect 10 step tutorial file

I was wondering too. I did find this tutorial with google though, it says it could be extended to create Dragan-like effects.

It's almpst 7MB so it may take a bit to download. Save it to your favorite folder then open it in Photoshop.

If you can visualize it, then create it in the camera, finish it off with the print that matches your mind's eye then you are, most likely, a master...

Doesn't work in PSE3. However, I have the original file converted now if anyone needs it.

I'll keep it there for a while unless it gets so many downloads that my bandwidth usage starts costing extra.

Re: Here:

Hi,

Thank you.

I downloaded it quickly (cable modem) and have been trying to figure out how to run it, ever since.

As you may have gathered, I am not the brightest bulb in the socket.

Re: Dragan effect 10 step tutorial file

Thanks, Dan...I've been looking for it for a LONG time. Now that I have it, can you tell us "dim bulbs" how to use it in PSE3?

TIA

I just got it yesterday myself, but I did a quick run through. Apparently in the Photoshop version of the file, there are two layer sets- one shows the result of each step with instructions, the other is a layer of each step. A separator layer was inserted between those two sets of layers after unrolling them into normal PSE-compatible layers. Basically, locate that layer separator, turn off all the layers above it, then start turning on each layer from the bottom up starting at that separator. Each layer has instructions on the right side describing what to do with your own images.

When I open YOUR "10step.psd" file in PSE3, a "New" box appears:

So I give it a name, like "Dragan10Step" and then PSE3 opens with a big 2000x3000 pixel pic of a white piece of foam core. There is only one background layer, as far as I can tell. Wasup?

Re: Dragan effect 10 step tutorial file

Hi,

I was surprised to see this thread, sorry I didn't see it earlier.

I still have the psd file at an email account that can be forwarded to those who email me.

There are 2 different files, one for photoshop and one for elements. The file in both cases is approx. 7 megs. Please make sure your email provider supports large attachments.

You can email me at:
dpreviewfreelancer54(at)yahoo.com

Please let me know if you'd like the ps or elements version.

Re: Here:

Just open with PS, hide the copyright layer, and then start revealing the layers step-by-step. I'd never seen a tutorial like this before either, but it's quite effective once you learn how to work it.

Hi checknumber96,

I emailed you the file. It's very old, but I hope you find it useful.

Search dpreview, many members have since developed techniques that are quite nice.
