i have the ben willmore book and love it! i picked it out from
amongst the pack at b&n after heavy browsing LOL! i find it
clearly laid out and user-firendly. i read it cover to cover, a
rarity for me and computer books :))) since his book i've gone on
to add others (noteably the martin evening book and Katrin Eismann
Retouching+Restoration, and just finished the fraser camera raw
book which was chock full of good information!), but i always
return to ben to clear things up for me.

I also have this book and it and the Real World PSCS are my 2 favorite books out of my many PS books. BTW--do you get Ben's 'tips' via an occasional email? He's not 'regular', but they are often witty and very informative.

Speaking of Books...

Get a copy of Hacking Windows XP if you are a WinXP user. It is the best book of its kind that I have seen. Every one of the speed-ups, etc that I have tried has worked. And the shareware on the included CD is worth the price alone. I got mine from overstock.com for about $15.

Honestly, no matter WHAT Katrin's book would look like I would buy
it...she is such and excellent teacher and communicator!

i signed up immediately! part of my enjoyment of his ps book was his writing style with wit and humor to keep the reader from getting bogged down in what can be the large muddy swamp of ps!!

I looked at the tutorial again and the instructions were as plain as day ( my brain was working today!) It certainly works and an action can easily be made

The Intersect Path button is the wrong choice. It should be the Exclude button. Katrin is correcting it for the next edition.

A version of this technique is covered beginning on p152 of Katrin's book.
