Pixa

Nugar's got it exactly.

Pix, please update your image to get it under 150K, update it in place and move it back to the Eligible gallery. There are instructions how to do that on the Pending Gallery page.

And don't feel bad about uploading a big file. First, we all know it was not intentional and second, even old pros at the challenges have uploaded fat files. I've been caught a time or two!

Rules state: "IMPORTANT: Please respect our PBase bandwidth and ensure that your
photos are no more than 150K in size. "

Even though I'm not an admin, and didn't move the picture, there's the
reason, overweight.

Why was it sent into pending?

Re: Pixa

Ahhh. Thanks. I didn't realize there was a file limit.
I'll be sure to change it promptly tomorrow as it's late here.

Re: Seven canidates for the pending gallery

Pops,

Apologies, I had edited them as you can see by the comments and i'm 99.9% sure I put date and location on them. Maybe someone edited them, I hope not.

It kinda sounds like you are saying 'the rules are that way so follow them' - I was kinda hoping for a more intellectual response as to why the date was required...I've never been a fan of 'the rules are there just because'.

You said yourself there's no way of knowing the date is accurate so why bother insisting on it - it is a nonsense.

Anyway, they are there now, hope they help.

Kind Regards,

Paul

Thanks, Paul.

One of the little problems the challenges run into is new challengers either don't read or understand the rules. About once every other challege or so we'll get an entry in the Eligible gallery that is outside the challenge dates. Because the date is there we can react. The new challenger has a better understanding of the rules and there are less "violations" of the rules.

You're right in that we don't really NEED to have the date there, assuming everyone reads, understands and follows the rules. We certainly can't require it for the newbies and not the oldies (You are a decided "oldie"). I still feel that it should be required on all pictures in the Eligible Gallery. That is just my opinion.

Thanks for putting up with this old "Law and Order" challenger.

Pops,

Makes sense, thanks for clearing it up! Hadn't thought of the newbie thing.

Good luck!

Few more from 1mor...

Hi,
There is a new one in the Exhibition gallery. I made it on 27th of October.
The other two are completely fresh.
Greetings from the sunny side of the Alps.

Pending claims 2

"Pink Forest" is missing the photographer's name so it's into pending it must go.

ISO3200's "Industrial Revelations" is missing a date. See, Paul, even the seasoned masters can forget the little details sometimes.

If these two aren't updated and moved back into the Eligible Gallery by tomorrw afternoon I'll put them in Exhibition.

Two already in pending, (For Your Eyes" and "Toying" came from Eligible. I've moved them to exhibition.

Two still stuck in pending

"Red" by Mike M and
"Lusterous CD" by Pixamelon

are still in the pending gallery. They are both over the 150k size limit. There is baout 7 hours left in the challenge. That's plenty of time to correct the problem, update the image and move it back into the proper gallery.

I'm thrilled that all the other images that appeared here are back where they belong.

Rod-you're the only one creating havoc...

in this challenge!! I've been too busy to keep up with you. I couldn't even respond to you on the first thread because we already had 150 msgs.

That's what I get for having a life beyond dpreview.com. LOL

But i'm keeping my eye on you!
