Does anybody know why you can only use RAW format and change ISO at P,Tv,Av and M mode only ? I know this is what the camera behaves as per the user manual.

That is how Canon chose to program the camera for some reason. I do not know why they did it like that nor have I seen any threads here discussing this subject before.

Take care and happy shooting, Greg

I can only presume that in such as pure 'Auto' mode the camera can make all sorts of odd settings, many of which would not be compatible to give the quality that RAW is intended for, so they don't allow you to spoil things unintentionally.

I would assume the same thing but Canon should at least let the user to choose the RAW format and keep the ISO as automatic.

I always assumed it was Canon's choice to not mix up the "automated" features with the "advanced" features. An "advanced" user would be the one to look for max creativity, photographic control and image quality. Thus RAW and ISO adjustments are associated with M, Av, Tv, and P modes. The other "automated" modes (outside of stitch and movie) were marketing features to be used as quick, no brainer settings, since their settings can be duplicated by the advanced modes anyway. Thus these auto- type modes are associated with the non-advanced settings of JPEG and auto ISO. Just a guess...
