s500 Compactflash speed?
I found that when I put a Sandisk Ultra CF in my S400, shooting speed was about the same, but playing back an image was slightly faster compared to the card that came with the camera. It wasn't that noticeable until I went back to the slower card. Image replay seemed annoying slow even though it was a slight difference.
I have bought faster CF cards for my S60 for 2 reasons. The fast cards have lifetime warranties, so they will last forever (or be replaced for free), and, I plan on buying the new version of the 300D SLR when it comes out some day. The CF speed will make a difference then. It's sort of an investment.

Thanks. Thats pretty much what I figured.
The Viking 512MB is only $53.99 after $35 rebate on Amazon. It
should be fast enough for me.
From what I've read numerous times in these forums, the general
drift I get is that a high speed card won't make much difference in
the camera, but that when using a card reader to download to your
PC the speed difference will be noticeable.
