Don't presume studio flash is high voltage

Don't presume a studio flash unit has a higher trigger voltage--or that a small flash unit doesn't.

The more recently designed studio flash units do have low sync voltages to accomodate the modern electronic cameras, but always check with the manufacturer to be sure (Canon, at 6 volts, is only half the actual ISO standard--even though Canon was head of the committee that set the standard).
