Do you still prefer a D70 over a hacked 300D?

"...but..." makes this a rather dubious claim.

But now, I wonder if I get the best performance / $ ratio
especially now the new firmware hack is available that gives the
camera new features such as ISO 3200 and MLU.

Well, MLU is a great feature to have, and one that should be on the D70 from the factory. I wish some enterprising D70 owner would likewise attempt to hack its firmware.

However, firmware only gets the 300D a couple of features it should've had in the first place. If the hack gave the 300D a quicker startup, bigger buffer, 1/500s flash sync (high-speed sync doesn't cut it), faster write times, instant review capability, 3D Matrix Metering (the 10D/300D meter stinks), a true spot meter, and a couple of other nifty D70 features, then SURE! I'd probably get the 300D at that price.

Also, the body price difference is still only $100 everywhere I look.

Things that make you go, hmmmm...
