Ronald Reagan's Funeral Procession [imgs]

I left work a bit early today to watch Ronald Reagan's funeral procession down Constitution Avenue on its way to the U.S. Capitol. The crowds were thick, and I couldn't even get close to the procession--thank God for zoom. I did manage to get some shots of the solemn occasion. I thought I'd share some for those of you who live far away...

Like I said, there were thousands of people lining the route

It was a hot day, and these soldiers had to stand on the street for hours

Flags were at half mast

Sam Donaldson from CBS was there, looking very pensive (he interviewed Reagan numerous times during the 80s)

Finally, the procession, which began with a limo carrying the family

Then the caisson with the casket

Finally the riderless horse

All taken with F717, most in sepia.
