Do you have a larger original image that you could post?

Hi Melissa,

I did a more radical and lonelier crop on the image and then some selective dodging and burning (using an overlay layer) to lighten hair, emphasize lips and highlights and darken the wood a bit. I then used my favorite B&W warming technique du-jour... used a tritone and then reconverted back to RGB.
Cute little girl... reminds me of my 6 yr. old in one her dramatic moments :)

Despite Marski's abruptness below about selling children or oak (lol)... he has a point so here's a 2nd higher contrast and selective focus version...

That makes me wonder how that works?

If someone takes my photo to retouch it, does it then become copright to them ?

I mean I'd hate to see Megan on a website somewhere with someone elses signature on it.
It's a great shot...such emotion! You can do all kinds of things
with this one.

This "version" has turned a great photo into superb! What exactly did you do? I'm not sure how to make extra layers and duplicate layers in PS yet. I'm just learning from PSP.. thanks

My sincerest apologies Melissa. I meant no harm, and the picture has been removed from my gallery and deleted. Am new at using the forums, and I guess I misunderstood. Anyway, it's my mistake, and I do apologize.

Not intending to take anything. If someone can tell me how to delete it from here I will be happy to.

It's actually called arrogant.

To re-touch someone else's photo (property) then apply your signature is the ultimate in unprofessional...paid for or not.

This person does this for every retouch they have done.

They have NO rights to the photo, especially as this is a forum, applying a sig, or any mark, to a work not your's, done as a "favour or example" is (sorry) lame......amateur..... .

Actually that is wrong.... It's only the second thing I have ever signed.

Melissa, again I apologize. I will do what I can to get it removed from here.

I agree with KGB, to slap your signature on someone else's photo is a most classless act.

It's stealing, it's cheating, it's lying.

You are calling something that doesn't belong to you your own.

That said, most people that post here understand that there are those among us who can't leave a photo alone. Heck, I'm one of them. This is afterall a retouching forum. However, at the end of the day, the original photo still belongs to the photographer.

Do your self a favor Sharon, think twice before you run that snazzy signature action.
