FCAS Application (Attempt 2)

This time I've tried a bit more of a controlled environment for my FCAS photo submission:

Here is my setup:

Here is the image before editing:

Make/Model: Nikon E5700
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 21 mm
Exposure Time: 1/15 sec
Aperture: f/5.5
ISO Equivalent: 100
Exposure Bias: -2/3
Metering Mode: multi spot (3)
Exposure Program: shutter priority (4)

And here is the finished photo:

To create the final version I did the following:

1) Rotate image 35 degrees clockwise

2) Magic Marker to select the background (being careful to not get any of the stem selected).
3) Adjust levels to create a uniform black background.
4) Select inverse and adjust the brightness/contrast slightly.
5) Select all, copy/paste into a new background
6) Frame, Flatten Image, Save for Web.

Looking forward to any feedback. This sure is fun!!!

Dave
