I must say that the SD10 is one cool toy. In fact it's the coolest toy I've ever had.

Sure, there are some issues but lucky for me they don't effect much of my shooting style. Each shot I take makes me want to shoot more and get better images that I know I can get with this camera. Hopefully my skills will match the 10's capabilities(by then we should have our 8mp 1.3X Foveon that out performs Medium format).

The real purpose of this post is not to talk about how much I love this camera. I think that's a given.

The main reason is that I got a few people to thank for helping me get this far on using the 10.

YiDing. Thanks for the histogram article after you saw the Xmas tree pics. and thanks for the email.

LM: Thanks for the secret sauce, English Church, Foggy Tree, Sigma Shoots, and Any White Balance.

Rick Decker: Thanks for the Pano Doc, Lens tests, Sigma Shoots, and Surf Shots.

Champa: Thanks for the 50mmEX, Colors, colors, colors, Sigma Shoots, and more colors.

Dom: Thanks for Sri Lanka, period.

To everyone else: Thanks for the great pics, great topics, encouragements, tips, and comments.

And thanks in advance for putting up with more baby pics. :D

To the new users:

1.) Take you time, enjoy, ask questions, search the forums, have fun and post your shots.
2.) CR3V
3.) Exposure
4.) The SDx is one heck of a tool for taking great photographs.
5.) Learn SPP.

Coming Projects: Lightning, Wrigley Field, The EL, Taste of Chicago, and more Brendon.

Chunsum,

Thanks for the post. Assuming you can get away from the "sensor wipe" in your footer, I'll join you. I prefer box seats behind or next to the third-base dugout. I'll pay for the peanuts if you get the tickets. I'll bring a .22 disguised as a 300-800 zoom to take out all of those d@mn lights.

Chunsum,

I will hold you to that, especially the lightning (because it is a rare find) but others are just as interesting...and I think we also learn from your rational approach as well, and not to mention many beautiful Chicago and Brendon's shots...we feel as if he is one of the sd10's babies (also Sean's and Rick W's grand son)...keep shooting and thank you!

Lightning is tough. but with the summer storms around here, I should be able to get a few as I did with my Fuji. and the idea of capturing it with the 20mm or 28mm is very exciting.

L, those seat are GOLD!

IF and when I can get my paws on a few of those I'll let you know. You can rest that 300-800 on top of the dugout roof. but you might need a special permit from Mayor Daley to move that thing down the street.

That's where my father always sat us when we went. And then, after the game, we usually visited some elderly lady on Waveland Ave., whose house was filled with memorabilia. She had never missed a home game. This was a while ago, though. Has anything changed?

Yeah, sadly, those seats are now eaten up mostly by corporate season tickets. there are only a few single seats left in those sections and they get snatched up fast.

The only time I was able to get behind there was when my uncle got hold of tickets from Motorola. and that was before the Sammy fiasco.

Huh?

Who's Sammy? Doesn't Hank Saurer play any more? Have I been missing something? I know Karl Guttag got all p'od at me for not shooting baseball. Maybe this is the reason.
