hi guys,

i guess now that it has become clear that kodak has forgotten about all it's 14n owner (ie. the people who first supported this new camera system) and also gone back on it's own press release saying that it would continue to support the camera through improved firmware; and that we HAVE to shell out the dough for an upgrade which is putting it just too close to a 1ds final price for my liking. this makes me so mad. i guess i said it. if you ask any owner of these cameras that this would be the case today do you think alot would say they would rather have gone with the competition? do you think that is how to run a business and continue to have customer loyalty?

anyway, rants aside, as i think i have to upgrade now and i reside in canada, could someone give me information as how i can upgrade through a canadian venue and what the price would be in canadian dollars?

thanks

What are you thinking. That Canada is not supported by Kodak ?

Its the same internationally. I upgraded the 14n for $1500 and let me tell you its worth it ! Nikon or Canon would never offer such a deal. The quality is excellent and worth the investment.

Is the issue cost or support ? Kodak is the leader for support. Call Canon or Nikon and see what kind of support you will get.

I see that this particular post meshes nicly with your recent rants in the Nikon and Canon forums.....

hiep vu,

To schedule an upgrade performed in Canada phone KODAK USA 1-800-235-6325 ext.82.

There is no waiting list up here (very few intrepid 14n owners north of the border).

Pay US$1500.00 by credit card, a sensor is shipped to Toronto overnight, and you can have a 14nx back within the week.

The 14n saga has been frustrating, but finally Kodak have come through with a DSLR setup that can deliver breathtaking results, arguably better than the 1ds, without lengthy PS workouts. The upgrade is essential in order to realise the 14n's full potential. The latest firmware is also essential.

thanks philip. i really appreciate the reply. i wasn't sure what some people in canada were doing and whether the service was to be executed here or if i had to send the camera to the US.

you are happy with the upgrade/FW i'm guessing?
