Prefocus - cool!

Hi Jonathan,

Set the camera to autofocus. Prefocus the lens at the required
distance. Press the shutter. When a fast moving subject passes
through the focal plane the camera will take the photo. Had the
lens been AF, the camera would have immediately refocussed the lens
on the background and missed the shot.

Cool! I tried (fortunately, I have only one AF lens, the other 5 are MF) and it worked. Only think: It must be AF.S (single) activated and so that AF is active with the release button.

I was always annoyed, that my MF lenses did not fire when in AF mode - I just was not completely in focus, so there was a reason. Of cause, one should switch of AF with MF lens when the object is in the DOF range but not completely in focus.
