No way under a grand - that puts it in the high-end of the amateur market (I think they call it "prosumer" whatever that is) and I reckon it'll come in around the £1700 mark - let's all have a bet! Probably 25% cheaper in the States?
Not so sure you're right about it not being ground-breaking technology - the new extended dynamic range takes it closer to film than ever before, and that's the key to the quality issue. While others are trying to go for more and more pixels - a big percentage of which are wasted in print - Fuji have realised that shadow and highlight detail are vital to the overall process and that sort of quality/information/detail never gets wasted.
I keep saying it, but I reckon many people are going to be pleasantly surprised when it finally comes out - if we're not all using Zimmerframes by the time it does . . .
