As you can see, these results are very disappointing for Nikon users.

Overall I think that these results are coming from an immature software. It looks like the software lacks some sort of normalization in the evaluation process.

Very interesting is the last issue (261) of 'Chasseur d'Images', a
french magazine, with the first use of DXO solutions (DXO analyzer)
to address the image quality of the DSLR couples body/lens, that is
the result of lens/digital embedded processor/body function! The
tests results are free of subjective rating. Canon, Nikon, Olympus
were tested and compared as well as Sigma lenses with Canon and
Nikon bodies. For us the D70 is not already tested (not available
for testing at the moment) but D100, D2H and...Fuji S2pro are.
S2pro is considered as a 'Nikon derived body'. It seems that the
Canon digital solutions (300D or 10D at least) are signifiantly
better than Nikon competitors (in absence of D70!). This difference
could probably due partly to the superior Canon DSP (Digic). A
sample of the Chasseur d'Images tests are available (only in
french) on their website http://www.photim.com
