The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear you use to take the shot.

Certainly nothing befitting envy, but I've know for months that this is the lens I should have started with. And now I finally have it...

We are about the same age, and it seems we went through almost the same story regarding involvment in photography. Slightly different cameras, different places, but so much alike. I never wrote those good moments down. Enjoyed your site. Great photos, wonderful colors and composition. Good 'seeing'

National Geography has comed out with a photography guide on 8 CDRom. I have tested the first volume and enjoyed it. Before i could go out and buy it she told my I'd have to wait 'til xmas... So now i'm waiting !!!
At least I know I'll have fun discovering it under the tree.
Has anyone of you tried it already ?
Merry Xmas to you all and in particular to the 10D community.

Bernie Claus brought me a new Canon 17-40L zoom lens! I think a BG-ED grip may show up after Christmas. I love my new lens!

Shoot early and shoot often, then purge, purge, purge

Canon 50mm/1.8 MKII
Canon 90-300 USM
Sigma 18-50

should help me get into my (new) 10D a little more while allowing me to save up a little to get a good L lens (probably the 70-200L)

I convinced her to let me get them early in November as a Xmas gift.

24" Rotatrim Mastercut
lights stand
softbox
STE2

and a travel Golf bag w/wheels -- not for golfing, but it holds 2 light stands, 1 softox, 1 umbrella, 2 background stands and a crossbar, 1 muslin, and accessories.

You just reminded me... I need to plan on what to get for my birthday coming in April. Canon 70-200 IS L or Epson 4000. This is a very tough choice for me. Which one would you get?

Seasons Greeting to all,
Simon-Ph

Sigma 70-200
Sigma 1.4 teleconverter
tripod
monopod
Wireless shutter release for the 10D

Santa was good to me:)
