snipYou had them in Richmond? They ARE a truly amazing sight as they pass through near us every year. These are so special to me, thanks for the memory prompt! Miss them since we moved from Richmond.
No apologies needed! I appreciate the stories that go along with these challenges. That's a great video you linked - reminds me of my Wisconsin childhood when our family would make driving trips through the Horicon Marsh this time of year to see similar numbers of Canadian Geese.Greg, the Richmond Snow Geese are part of the so-called Skagit and Fraser Valleys flocks. Their numbers have increased over many years and now there can be more than 100,000 over winter. They arrive late September/early October and leave again March/April. I always found them fascinating and have hundreds - if not thousands! - of photographs of them plus probably ten videos on YouTube. You can see one typical example HERE . The first half was shot in rather cloudy, windy conditions but after some time the sun came out with better visuals.
And by a huge coincidence, we just had a small formation of them flying by us here in Abbotsford! The first we have seen this season.
Nick, my apologies for a derailment/distraction to your excellent challenge!
