Sigma 12-24 first impressions

Can't put a UV on?

Really? That is such a huge shame, I was thinking of getting that lens just so that I could use 15-24mm with a UV filter on at all times, aaagh. My 15-30mm has suffered (champagne!) in the past without a UV filter, and it's on my camera 80-90% of the time.

Hmm, I have to rethink my Christmas plans. perhaps I should buy the 12-24mm along with a cheapo 18-50mm DC for more "dangerous" situations (e.g. when there's a crowd with alcohol about, in parties). Or 15mm fisheye with a Canon 17-40mm L. Decisions!

I wonder if there is any way to fix a UV to the inside of the removable lens cap hood.
