Re: I think I finally cracked the code on DCS460 CF cards

Hi,

I have had all the 5, 6 & 7 series save for the 760m. Currently, I have only the 520c and 760c and they both are still in use.

Yes, they all show the shutter count on the screen.

They all used any CF card in a PCMCIA adapter, including the IBM and Hitachi microdrives.

The upper limit is 2 GB.

At some point, I settled out on SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB cards for five DCS models. The aforementioned two plus a 560c, a 720x and a 660m. The 560c left in 2004, the 720x in 2018 and the 660m in 2020.

Dunno about the 460 any longer. I once had both a C and an M, but think I only used a 340 MB microdrive by way of CF card in an adapter. I can't recall using anything solid state in those.
