What I and I believe the OP are concerned about, when moving between prolonged below-freezing conditions (as encountered when shooting sea eagles on drift ice) and then moving into heated spaces, is condensation inside the lens and camera.

For those situations, I bring a zip-top plastic bag or a roll-top dry bag. Before I enter a heated room where I expect the camera and lens to spend a prolonged period of time, I throw the entire setup (and any other lenses and bodies I have taken outside) into the bags, and close them up tight. After an hour or so they should have acclimated, and it should be safe to take them out for shooting indoors.
