I have an X-E4 with a combo of primes: Fuji 18/f2, TTArtisan 25/f2, 7Artisans 35/f1.2 and Fuji 35/f2. I love the Fujis and use them all the time. I've tried out the Chinese lenses and while the plane of focus is completely wonky, they're actually quite nice for portraits. I like their vintage look but just don't use them a lot.

We're leaving for a holiday to the Jurassic coast in England and I'd like to take something longer. It needs to be at least 70mm. The 50s are too close to what I have. I used to have the 55-200 but I sold it. That's because I noticed I started leaving it home because of its size when I wasn't using it.

I've been looking at Alik Griffin's lens list and I see a few scenarios. One is to get a prime. The XF90 is gorgeous but as big as the 55-200 so I'm apprehensive about it. Samyang's 85/f1.8 seems a better size and I like the photos. Disadvantage: it's a prime. It won't go beyond 100mm. So variation of this scenario is to get two primes, with the second being a reflex lens or a converted vintage.

Another scenario entirely is to get a zoom. Fuji's got plenty standard zooms, e.g. the 16-80 or 18-120. I would prefer a lens that starts less wide but there's only  50-230 and 55-200 then. And the 50-140 but let's not go there I have rented the 16-55 before and liked it quite a bit. What I don't want is a super zoom (12-450 f15 as a matter of speaking). As for the balance on my X-E4: I always grip the lens more than the camera so that's no problem.

Any ideas or recommendations?
