Anyone own the Tamron 24mm F2.8, are they happy with it? Autofocus works well with the new Sony FF c
I am an amateur photographer, and a few months ago I switched to FF with an A7CII with the Kit 28-60 lens. Afterwards I purchased 3 lenses: the Tamron 28-75 G2, the 70-180 G2 and the 28-200 F2.8-5.6.
I've now thought about buying the Tamron 24mm F2.8 to have a wider angle lens for panoramas. The price is very attractive (just over €200) and it seems to be very sharp, sharper than the 20mm F2.8 and the 35mm F2.8 which are part of the Tamron trio with the same external dimensions and a 67mm filter. I might even use the same 67mm Hoya MKII filter as the other Tamron lenses.
However, I am a little skeptical: it seems that the Tamron 24mm has slow and noisy autofocus even if it is precise, but I know that it has received firmware updates over time.
I don't know if they have solved this problem and it could be that with the fast autofocus of the A7CII this problem is solved. Perhaps it would also be more appropriate for a prime to have a wider aperture, i.e. F1.8/F2, but then it would not weigh just over 200g like the Tamron in question, and it would be larger and more expensive. Does anyone have this lens? Maybe you paired it with an A7CII/A7CR and could tell me if it's fine and if you've encountered any problems. Thanks for all the kind replies.
