Aperture movement in manual mode?
Hi All,
I just picked up a new 50mm 1.4. While messing with it in manual mode, I noticed that the aperture was changing without any input. Like, if the aperture was set to 5.6 and I turned the camera toward me to look into the lens, it opens wider...like it's adjusting for the exposure. I would assume in M, that's not supposed to happen. Tried it with my 35GM - same thing. Camera is an A7IV. Anyone explanation? Bad connection? Normal behavior and I'm a dummy? Internal setting somewhere I'm missing? Adjusting because the lighting is so poor in my living room that it overrides my choice - as does the min ss, when the camera can't get the correct exposure?
Hope that's clear...
Thanks!
JS
