CA performance with Nikon 24-120 f4G. Is this normal fringing?

I have been using the 24-120 f4 for a year and I really like the convenience especially at the coast when I am usually at the waters edge, not a great place to swapping lenses. However, I've noticed some pretty bad fringing occur against bright light and wondered if this was-

1) normal for this kind of lens - a superzoom

2) is this bettered any other midrange zoom, perhaps the Z-mount version?
I've included some pics- a 100% zoom version + a version with corrections applied. I'm yet to print out a shot with this type of fringing to see if it shows in print. I guess that it will as even when the colour fringing is removed there are significant halos present.
Thanks
