Reactivating Windows after a Mobo change

I needed to replace a faulty motherboard on a pc recently and replaced it with a Mobo of the same make and model.

However now Windows is saying I need to activate it again.

No surprise there as the registration is usually tied to the Mobo but I have been going around in circles trying to get it reactivated. Microsoft’s site is just rubbish with links leading back to the same page or links that go nowhere.

Although I had little faith it would work I clicked on the link asking for an agent to phone back but nothing yet after 4 days.

The OS is Windows 10 Pro (64bit) which was a (free) update from my Windows 7 Ultimate (retail version) when that was possible. The PC still shows up in my Microsoft account but without a serial number.

Any idea how to get this copy of Windows 10 re-activated?
Based in the UK BTW.
