Galveston's annual Dickens on the Strand festival

I drive down to the coast just about every year for this holiday themed festival. The Strand is Galveston's historic business district that survived many fires and the Great Hurricane of 1900. The event is themed around the period in England of Charles Dickens but you see all kinds of costumes, some look more like from a Renaissance Festival or one of the Mad Max films.

I took my R7 and a Tamron 18-400mm lens, I find it a good setup for street photography as I can go wide or zoom in. It was quite overcast to the point of a light fog with mist, great for portraits.

Here are a few shots. Always fun to do some street photography.

Supposed to be Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and a town crier.

They had a snow machine up on a balcony.
