How to REALLY speed up NX Studio

With Nikon Z9 and a "sillion" of fx sized RAW pics of 8256x5504 pixels a small portable laptop is NOT the first lap top option?

Or is it?

I bought the Asus ZenBook 14 Pro OLED UX6404 i9/32/1024 14,5"

  • Intel® Core™ i9-13900H 13th generation
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070/Intel Iris Xe-grafics 8GB
  • 14,5" OLED
  • 32 GB DDR5 RAM
  • 1024 GB SSD

Sounds good? I started up, but it was crasily slow!

Then the hard work started. First, Uninstall MCAffee, you already have Windows Defender. Remove all cloud activities and connections. (Uninstall Microsoft OneDrive and Adobe Creative Cloud) Speed up win 11 to high yield. Use CC Cleaner.

Not enough.

Install new Geforce driver. And that is not the one you get recommended. Ask Nvidia chat which one is the best for images. Also set the card to high yield.

Then dive into Nvida Control Panel and set up the 3D! Very good help from Nvidia chat!

Finally NX Studio starts working. Obviously turn of Noise reduction and empty the cache this way: Edit/Options/General - clear cache.

Next to do tomorrow? Check how to speed up Intel Iris Xe-grafics!!

Good luck and good night from Norway!

Nikon Z9
