Epson ET8550 - Where do the user presets get saved?
1

Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone can answer my question but here's hoping. I use an Epson ET8550 and save all my custom print settings in the printer preferences menu. However, there is a big issue in that if you ever need to reinstall the printer driver/software it completely removes all the saved presets. There appears to be no way to export/import setting so there is no way to save them externally or to a USB stick.

So the question is, does anyone know where the presets are saved within a Windows PC environment? The fact that you can save and delete as required tells me there has to be a database that the files are written to somewhere on the system.

Hope someone can assist

Mike

UPDATE:

For those interested, the user presets are stored in a file called E_TCXYCE.UCB

Drive C: is my Windows OS drive and the file can be found at:

C:\ProgramData\Epson\Epson ET-8550 Series\E_TCXYCE.UCB

I added new presets and deleted others to test it works and with when I overwrite the .UCB file from an external source the presets are there or gone accordingly.

Hope this helps others in a similar situation.

Mike
