Re: Comparing Sony A7CR to Leica Q3?

For your needs, the A&CR by a mile.

You have a wide range of needs. The interchangeable lens versatility of the CR plus the versatilty that the 61 mgp brings, makes it an easy choice. The shape/grip of the CR is a real plus as well compared to the slippery Q3 shape, even with the thumb thingie added. I disagree with many who keep repeating put downs of the Sony ergonomics. The Sony is a much nicer, more secure camera to hold. The af of the CR is in a league of its own. The stabilization on the Q is well below that of the 7CR

The q3 has two advantages IMHO. The rear screen is better positioned for shooting from the hip for street work.  That of the CR is ok but because you have to extend it to the side it is more obvious. The evf on the Q3 is better. I don't have problems with the Sony evf, it is entirely adequate for my needs but it is worth checking this out.
