Peek a boo?

Araneus diadematus. This critter has a huge web right outside my back storm door. It decided earlier this season that that was its place of choice, and there it has hung out ever since.

No dog traffic to the yard this summer, so it's relatively undisturbed, and it figured out that if it spun the web just to one side of the door frame, and not across it, it would not get randomly evicted by the door opening....Smart spider...

It wouldn't be fall if my backyard didn't have 3-4 orb spiders trying to catch me or smaller prey!
