Who’s shooting with this lens? I’m seen mixed reviews. It seems like a good lens for the price point? If this and the 17-28mm, 70-180 and 180-600 are actually Tamron lenses, why didn’t Tamron release them, like Viltrox as a third party?

I use it, and it's fine. Not the most amazing optic in the world, but if you're doing event stuff, it's plenty good enough for that.

I love the big fat zoom ring that's easy to turn, it's super lightweight, and is often had for around $800-$900.

If you already have the 24-70 f/4, I wouldn't bother at all and instead pick up the f/1.8 primes.

Thank you.  I have the Z 85 f1.8, just trying to decide on which other prime, 40 f2, 35 f1.8, I really like 28mm but not the f2.8, wished there was a f1.8 or f2
