Peak Design Capture Clip with E-M1 MkII/III
1

As someone who's backpacked for many miles with a Canon R6, EF-to-RF adapter, and the Canon 70-200 f/4L IS II (total weight of ~3.5lbs) all hanging from a Peak Design Capture Clip on the shoulder strap of my backpack, I am SO glad I accidentally stumbled on reports of the baseplate failures of the E-M5 Mk III/OM-5 when used like this. I recently bought an OM-5, which I had intended to use for backpacking in the Canon's stead (with the Pan 35-100, only 1.7lbs).

Now it seems that plan is out.

I do also have E-M1 Mk II/III bodies, which should be more rugged than the OM-5, though I haven't tested them on the trail with the Peak Design clip.

Does anyone know of any reports of baseplate failure when using the E-M1 Mk II/III with the Peak Design Capture Clip? Reports of good success using said combo are also welcome. Thanks
