Z8 follows the Fujifilm method

I see that Nikon has stolen a tactic from Fujifilm - re-use the internals, reskin the body.

Fujifilm is famous for reusing sensors and processor across their entire line of cameras - all that is different is the body type, just keep moving the button and dials around and around. Although in their current generation of cameras - they have moved to a 2 sensor line-up.

These must be desperate times for Nikon. They haven't been this desperate since the D3 / D700 days. Everyone was asking where is Nikon's 35mm sensor camera? They busted down the door with the D3 but had nothing in the lower end ready to go - so they reused the internals of the D3 and repackaged it into the D700. They haven't had to do that again for the D4 and D5 and D6 generations.

But here comes the move into mirrorless - the Z6 and Z7 couldn't really hold serve but the Z9 was a block buster but what to do as a follow-up...re-skin the body of the Z9.

Maybe we will get more Kaizen now that internals are being shared across models.
