Bokeh Beasts - Voigtländer 29mm f0.8 vs Oly 45mm f1.2 vs Oly 75mm f1.8

Hi guys,

Now that I'm about to shed some gear, it's high time I actually compare what I currently own.

More specifically, I always wanted to compare my 3 allegedly "bokek beasts" and compare them like Petr Bambousek did with the "1.2s" on his blog.

Three shots per lens:

1. Subject shot from the smallest focal distance.

2. Subject shot with variable focal lengths from the same spot.

3. Subject shot with variable focal lengths so that the resulting image is roughly the same size.

I took the same pictures with the Olys 40-150mm f2.8 and f4 at 40mm and 150mm respectively. If someone is interested in seeing those, let me know.

I never quite realised how different the color rendition was with the Voigtländer. Interesting!

Am I dreaming or does the line under the figure's feet seem a little bended on the Voigtländer too?

One can definitely see the compression of the 75mm f1.8. And the Voigtländer's ability to isolate a subject doesn't seem immensefully better than the 45mm f1.2.

I should probably try again with a different background, with some lights, to see actual bokeh balls.

That's it for now.
