I will keep this short:
- Is it possible to secure a similar domain, like dpreview.net, after the main one closed?

I've secured the domain DPRevived.com. I ended up not getting PhotoForums.com at a price I was prepared to pay. I hope you're happy with DPREvived.com.

- What if I, a group/organization want to save the reviews and articles, and host those on a non profit site with similar domain, if dpreview.com domain cannot be used, to serve as an easy to find encyclopedia, without having to go through archive sites, will there be any imminent legal issues.

The Archive Team is  on that job, I intend to leave it to them - this task is about providing a DPR-like home in the future.

What do you guys think about these?
DPreview is my teenage years, it is absolutely too precious to be abolished just like this.
And the legal issues be damned, I live in a backward, middle of nowhere 3rd world country, if large hosting services won't/can't do this, I will do it myself and nobody here will give a sh*t about it.

So, what I hope is that DPRevived.com will provide somewhere for you and everyone else to go.
