Small tripod... yet again
Looking for a light weight tripod again. I was considering the FLM CP30 S4 when I realized it was way overkill. I need a tripod that is the easiest to carry. even my backup 80$ very light Slik aluminium tripod is not too bad, except it is large and doesn't fold to a small size at all.
I would probably never have more than 2kg on it.
Looking for a tripod up to 1.5kg but preferably less.
A few features I'm uncertain about are the leg clamps and center column.
Even with their disadvantages, I like the flip locks more than the twist locks, though on my Manfrotto they have very strong springs so not the most comfortable and they are a little loud. I do use the tripod in quiet concerts, but can't see that I'd need to adjust it during the concert. The cheap Slik has nice quiet flip locks, but obviously not as good/strong (and overall it is way more flimsy).
I'm trying to decide if I need a center column. It did came handy on the Slik when I needed to have it higher than a fence one time. It does add a bit of weight, and flimsiness isn't a big deal since when I need a more sturdy tripod in expense of weight I use a different one anyway.
The FLM CP30 S4 is still an option, and it might replace my better tripod sometimes (it's much lighter), but it doesn't fold to the smallest size, it has twist locks, no center column, and relatively expensive (though on the less expensive side for this type of tripod). It's very light though at 1.3kg. This is at the bottom now because of price and likely won't really be better for what I need than the others.
Sirui ET 2204 or even 1204. Flip locks. Removable long center column to make it even lighter. I have to see if the 1204 is not too low. Inexpensive. Folds smaller than the FLM. Leaning towards this one if height is not limiting.
Leofoto - various models. they seem to have flip locks (though only special order). Some have center colums (I don't think they are removable, and not with flip locks). Slightly more expensive than Sirui but they generally rate as very stable and stiff for their price... whatever this means.
Narrowed it to these because they are closest to what I want/need for the same features and price.
Thanks for any suggestions.
