12-100 f/4 or 35-100 f/2.8 for indoors?

Hey all! Hoping to get some insight on this question before the website is gone forever. Still a big bummer!

Anyhow, I have the OM-1 and E-M5 Mk III, both of which I am really enjoying. My oldest son is going to be starting school soon, which includes indoor events (performances, recitals, graduation, etc). Generally, we will be in a gymnasium or auditorium with lighting on (although not very bright) and sitting between 100 and 200 feet away.

I am trying to figure out which lens may be better for this use - the Olympus 12-100 mm f/4 ori if the Panasonic 35-100 mm f/2.8 mk I. I know that the Panasonic has one more full stop of light with the 2.8 aperture, but I am not really sure if the IS on the f/4 makes up for that on the Olympus / OMDS bodies.

Truth be told, I do not have a lot of knowledge or experience with dual / sync IS, so not sure if the Olympus may just be the better option as it may allow me to play with the shutter speed more.

Any insight? Is one better than the other? Is it a toss up? Their sizes are similar (footprint, not weight), so I am not too worried about that consideration. Likewise, I already own both so price is not a factor - I will offload one of them before the schooling starts, so thus the question.

THANK YOU!
