The closing...let's be constructive/creative!

It's very sad news, but the free forum model (even with a bit of very low key/subliminal advertising for Amazon) doesn't work.  Business moves on, it is not a charity!

Let DPR management give us a clue and perhaps we as users could help to suggest how to move it to a sustainable business model.

How much does it cost to run DPR?

How many forum members (all forums) are there?

What opportunity is there for unobtrusive advertising revenue? (the right hand column beside these posts comes to mind)

Where else are there revenue opportunities?

How much would we each have to pay....per year, I guess, as it reduces admin costs.....to keep the thing running

How many folks would pay?  I know. it depends on the cost, so let's get the answers to the above questions as a very rough ballpark, before looking at the fine details.

Please add to the thoughts, let's not let this thing die without at least understanding if there is an alternative

(I do look at the other forums, but there is nowhere near the depth of experience and comment that we get on here)

Comments/additions/replies?
