it sounds like you have your mind made up to invest more into a dead system
On the contrary, the reason I am vacillating is that the M system is dead (we won't see any more additions), and I was looking for a compact system that offers:
- fast primes (22/2, 50/1.4 EF-S)
- zoom from 18-300 (FF equivalent) 11-22, 15-45, 55-200
I do not need the extra resolution of a FF sensor but could use some low-light capability. The closest viable option is a kit based on an R10.
Canon EOS R10 + RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM kit
+
Canon RF 15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM (replaces the 11-22)
Canon RF-S 55-210mm F5.0-7.1 IS STM (replaces the EF-S 55-250)
Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM (replaces the EF 50/1.4)
Canon RF 24mm IS STM F1.8 (replaces the 22/2)
optionally
I could add a Canon RF 16mm f/2.8 STM (165 gms) to total up to 1.8kg. This kit (with the 16mm) would cost me around $3000 minus whatever I can get for my old Canon equipment.
The RF 35mm f/1.8 replaces the EF-M 32/1.4 rather nicely too.
not on apsc the 32 is a great lens
I disagree with where you've been with gear and where you keep going here, including your bag
I had a sling bag on my back and couldn't access my gear quickly enough - a shoulder bag for quick access is what I use
It is nuts to buy a lot of gear for travel
keep your m50 + 11-22 + 22
the 15 -30 is not a lens I'd buy
nor is the 18-46
run with two cameras and three lenses in a shoulder bag and get this
Canon EOS R10 Mirrorless Camera with 18-150mm Lens 5331C016 B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
sell everything else
and add to your RF down the road
