yes, but RF 100-400 does BIF -- your M doesn't do well

What is BIF?

Of course, you cannot compare a FF equipped with fast, expensive, heavy glass with a much poorer APSC camera. The question is do I need this level of performance?

Based on what you have written until now, I very much doubt that you do.

The only time I have felt my system's limitations are in very low light; when I have to push the ISO over 3200. I assume the new Digic X sensor even in APS-C bodies would outperform older Digic 8 sensors of the older FF cameras.

I am just wondering. In what situations was your current system not good enough to take the photos you wanted?

My 11-22 isn't fast enough in low light. I only have the 22/2 and heavy EF 50/1.4 (which is heavy) to cover low light.

the issue is that the op has to chase new money into older technology that is being sunset

Agreed which is why I started this thread in the EOR R section.

The R8 will crush the ops technology, just as your R6II - otherwise, why did you get R6II

Agreed. The R8 will crush my system with the only challenge being above 100mm (FF equivalent). With an EF-M 55-200, I'd be able to go to 300mm (FF equivalent). I think 300mm should be all range I should need.
