Hi All,

As the title says, when I am in AF-C I've turned off AEL at the shutter. This way I can move the camera with AF continuously activated by the shutter half press, but the camera will continuously recalculate exposure. That seems to work well when the brightness changes in the scene are modest... but if it is a large change in brightness it takes a couple of seconds for the meter to adjust exposure. Of course, this can mean a missed shot if there is moving action. I'm finding the same is true on my X-Pro3. SETTING: SHUTTER AE [AF-C: OFF].

I am also finding the shutter release so sensitive on the X-e4 that I find it difficult not to misfire the shutter when half pressed. Not the case with my X-Pro3.

I'm curious to here your experiences, both with the slow metering response and the sensitivity of the X-e4 shutter button.

I set mine to SHUTTER AE [AF-C: OFF], AF-C ON, and metering to SPOT (just to ensure it would need to recalibrate the exposure when moving. I also put my hand over the lens for total darkness and removed quickly.

I thought the lag was perfectly acceptable. Certainly not a couple of seconds. More like .2 seconds (perceptible but would only cause a mis-exposed shot in the most dynamic circumstances).

As for the sensitivity of the shutter, I use a soft release button, but have never noticed a problem with half-pressing.

Sorry, this probably doesn't help you resolve. Let me know if I've mis-set something and I can give it another go.
