Hi

Which SDCard brand & size will you recommend for the R8?

As an hobbyist, I am more interested in photography than video, I will do video very occasionnaly.

What would be the reasonnable size for an SDCard, I saw that UHS-ii cards seems the way to go.

From my first research on the subject and past experience with my 7D (I use a CF 32Go), I saw this card:

Kingston Canvas React Plus Carte SD 64 Go | SDXC UHS-II | 300R/260W U3 V90 (75$cad)

Or maybe the same in 128 Go (160$cad)

Since the R8 have only one card slot, would you recommend ×1 128Go card or ×2 64Gb cards?

Thanks for your feedback

When I got the R7, I started with 64GB V90 UHS-II cards. After a year, I found that I wasn't shooting anything that needed V90 speeds. When I do shoot video, it's almost always Full HD 59.94 fps. Here's the chart for the R8, and there is no video mode that requires anything above V60.

When I got the R6, I looked at the SD specs for both cameras and decided that (for me) higher capacity and price was more important than raw card speed. So I got a set of four Samsung EVO 256GB V30 UHS-I cards and have been very happy, especially with the price to performance ratio.

Edit: I should have noted that I shoot WAY more photos than video, and I don't need the better maximum burst rate of a UHS-II card (scroll up in the SD chart for data on photo quality/max shots).
