Currently I have XF 14mm and I feel it's not wide enough for my architectural shots.. I'm mostly shooting Hindu temples and forts . Also some religious festivals where i want to exaggerate things.
I also have XF 23mm which i use for general purpose.
I will be selling XF 14mm and planning to buy one of the below ultra wide angle lens.
So far I heard Laowa is lighter and NiSI is better quality. Is that true? I would prefer lightweight If that does not degrade quality much.
New Tamron also seems to be light weight. While having zoom is good I will be shooting at 11mm most of the time any way. How it will compare with above primes? I don't want to compromise in Wide end IQ and light weight.
Please suggest me one.
I am an historic buildings Architect and have been shooting buildings in France and the UK for many years, both internally and externally.
Internally, lighting conditions vary enormously, and for adequate DOF I often used a small aperture with the camera mounted on a tripod. The ability to minimize CA is also vital, which was one of the reasons I moved from Pentax to Fuji back in 2015. I bought the XE2 then and soon after, the XM1 for its tilting screen. I also bought the Fuji 10-24 zoom specifically for architectural work.
When mounted and set up on a tripod, and swiveling round to frame different shots, the ability to zoom is incredibly useful.
I never felt the need to go wider than the 10mm, so rather than the primes that you mention, I would simply get the Fuji 10-24 and if you don't have an IBIS body, then the Fuji wins again with its OIS.
