You can laugh all you want. But Canon could have easily added this option in firmware, when it did so for the R5, in the exact way I am describing.

Instead of clamouring for the correct solution, you are all too busy affirming your camera selection.

Even my little Ricoh GR2 could be made to work without a screen, so you could just look through an optical viewfinder if you want and take pictures without being distracted. I didn't need to cover up the LCD to get the job done, so it was of course able to show image review when I was ready. Ricoh understands photographers the way Leica does, and has managed to get many Leica users on board who appreciate the aesthetics/nice process of such photography.

Of course the R6 is capable, but low scoring reviews can help purchasers and camera development far more than normal ones imo.

How many of you would be inconvenienced if Canon added option 6 to the info screen options? None.

I am not alone in finding this an annoyance. Other photographers are also choosing to close the LCD to get the same result. It's not hard to find others bemoaning the lack of 'option 6' on the camera. Search and you'll see. Or just carry on believing you have a perfect camera.

I was completely unaware that mobs were forming to demand this particular R5 feature be added to the R6. I was also unaware that the R5 even has the feature, so I don’t use it. I usually leave the screen folded closed, just like I did on my dslrs. And I do not find that annoying.  If and when I want to review images in the field, and only if the viewfinder isn’t good enough for a quick look, then I open the screen, look, and close the screen again. Keeps it cleaner and safer. As for Leica, I will forbear from satirical commentary, but there was a funny YouTube video on the topic “if cameras were people”,
