This is just a trend, just lazy tik tokers/millennials/ scalpers trying to make a buck from a popular product. I’d say don’t give them the pleasure and buy another model so hopefully they will lose their money once the new model comes out and nobody wants to buy their overpriced stock.

Sad but true.

Scalpers are making big bucks thanks to Fuji's decision

Evidence of this ‘decision’ ??

to produce as few X-Pro, X100V, and XE4s as possible.

This is absolute nonsense, and if I’m not mistaken, similar to accusations you have made before. Please stop repeating ridiculous, unfounded statements. Fuji are NOT hiking the prices of their cameras. Only resellers benefit from demand for these models.
There is no logic in your claims. What manufacturer of ANYTHING would minimise production volume to boost the resale price of their goods. Just think about it and then stop posting such nonsense.

If people keep paying 2X retail value for those cameras, Fuji will keep the ball rolling and won't release any new model soon. Why should they when the market is crazy for their current offerings?

What?

I bet there won't be an X100VI, XPRO4, or XE5 at least for another year.

!?!?!

You can type ALL the CAPITAL letters YOU want but my point stands. All you guys claiming my theory is a "crazy conspiracy theory" probably are not familiar with working in branding of luxury brands (as I do) and do not know how those brands create hype and built reputation.

So I am going to have to explain AGAIN so maybe you can GET it this time...

Last year the Swatch group release the Swatch/Omega collaboration watches for a retail of $250. They decided to limit their availability to certain boutiques around the world and make them not available online. They could produce millions if they wanted too and sell them ALL, but they decided not. Why? Because the brand value went to the roof.

And what happen? Scalpers spend nights outside those boutiques so they can manage to get their hands on those watches and flip them the next day even for a thousand dollars. The harder to find the more people want those watches.

Now, you can argue the OVF of the XPro or X100 are very difficult to produce and only a dozen can be made a month (which would be wrong). But which components of the XE4 are so hard to produce that Fuji can't make more of them?

If the demand is so high what is your logic for not allocating resources to produce more of those 3 cameras? Maybe a visit to Instagram and Tiktok will help you understand what HYPE is.

You’ve made this point before and it’s not valid. Fujifilm is not a luxury brand and their products are not sold as such, or at crazy retail prices. As has been repeatedly highlighted, Fuiji the manufacturer gains nothing from hype or inflated second hand prices. They are not in any way driving the hype. Exaggerated claims like yours are an example of online hysteria.

I don’t know what your objective or agenda is but your statements such as ‘they could produce millions if they wanted to’ demonstrates a complete absence of objectivity, when you imply this also applies to Fuji cameras. It does not. Good day to you.

"They are not luxury items..." it just happens that these days are sold for twice their retail price. $2700 for an APSC camera is kind of Leica CL luxury level to me.

But whatever, if you believe Fuji will release new models next month when the hype is this high, you will be very disappointed.
